DMCA Copyright Policy
Our guidelines and procedures for intellectual property protection.
Last updated: October 22, 2026
1. Overview & Safe Harbor Compliance
ChatMeOut respects the intellectual property rights of creators and strictly adheres to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). As an online service provider, we facilitate real-time transient communications, blogs, and interactive messaging while maintaining statutory Safe Harbor protections.
Online Service Provider Status
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(a) and § 512(c), ChatMeOut operates as a conduit for user-directed communications. We do not preview or endorse user-generated messages, but we promptly investigate and act upon properly submitted infringement notices.
Ephemeral Media & Persistent Assets
Images transmitted in private chat rooms automatically expire and are permanently purged from storage after 10 minutes. Persistent assets (such as user avatars, custom chat backgrounds, and public blog articles hosted on Cloudinary) remain hosted until updated, removed by the user, or addressed via a valid copyright takedown notice.
If you are a copyright owner or an authorized agent representing one, and you believe in good faith that content hosted on ChatMeOut infringes your work, you may submit a formal notification as described below. For conduct rules outside of copyright, please review our Community Guidelines.

Replacement & Restoration Process
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification:
- We promptly forward a copy to the original complaining party.
- We inform the complainant that the removed material will be replaced within 10 to 14 business days.
- Unless our designated agent receives notice that the copyright owner has filed a court action seeking a restraining order, we will restore access to the content within this statutory window.
4. Repeat Infringer Policy
In compliance with Section 512(i) of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, ChatMeOut maintains and enforces a strict Repeat Infringer Policy.
Account Termination
Accounts that receive multiple verified DMCA takedown notices or repeatedly upload content without authorization will have their account access terminated, active sessions revoked, and future registrations blocked.
Network Enforcement
We utilize SHA-256 hashed IP blocks and device session fingerprinting to prevent banned repeat offenders from immediately creating shadow guest profiles or bypassing account suspensions.
We reserve the right to modify, disable, or terminate access for any user who infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, with or without prior notice, in accordance with our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
